Addiction is
something that effects 1 out of every 3 people in
the United States. In today's society, everyone
knows someone with an addiction of some kind or is
battling an addiction of their own or has been
effected by someone else's addiction.
From alcohol and
drug dependency to gambling and eating disorders, it
not only effects the addict, it effects their family
and friends as well. The dictionary describes an
addiction as: "The condition of being habitually or
compulsively occupied with or or involved in
something to which you have no control over."
Unfortunately, in
our society, there is a rapidly growing drug and
alcohol addiction problem among teens as well as
adults. Pier pressure is often the cause of teens
becoming involved with drugs and alcohol but there
are also a lot of other reasons.
I have put
together a list of links to web sites with
information pertaining to addictions, help for
addictions and inspirational stories from those who
have turned their life around and made it out.
Yes, it is
possible to recover. I am a proven testimony that
there is hope. I am a recovering addict and have
been clean since September 23, 2003. My life has
never been more full of joy for living and it is my
hope that I can help someone else to experience it
for themselves. You can read my
testimony located
here on this website.
I hope that you
find the information that I have posted here helpful
and if you know someone who can use the help, please
pass it on.

What I call the
most powerful & informative program on television
If you have never seen this program, It's a "must
see".

The documentary series
Intervention
profiles people who are losing the battle with their
addictions, and whose friends and families feel the
only remaining option is to hold an intervention.
Each documentary follows the lives of these
addicts, taking an unflinching look at the impact of
their addictions on their everyday lives, all the
while the addicts are unaware that an intervention
is being planned.
Each airing ends with friends, family, and a
professional interventionist urging the addict to
get treatment. If the individual should choose
treatment, the addict immediately enters a widely
respected treatment facility.
